Position Overview:

As a Technology Trainer for Children at jCoders Academy, you will have the incredible opportunity to ignite curiosity and passion for technology among children aged 8 to 18. You will design and deliver engaging workshops, classes, and projects that teach essential technology skills and concepts to groups of children assigned to you. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in technology, exceptional communication skills, and a genuine interest in fostering a positive and fun learning environment for young minds.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach fundamental technology skills such as coding, robotics, digital art, video game design, and more.
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and exploration.
  • Tailor instructional methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and skill levels.
  • Encourage and guide students in exploring their interests and pursuing technology-related projects.
  • Assess and provide constructive feedback on students’ progress and projects.
  • Collaborate with other technology trainers and staff to continuously improve the curriculum and teaching techniques.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students during the learning sessions.
  • Communicate with parents or guardians to share progress updates and discuss their child’s development.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Proficient English language skills, in reading, writing, and speaking.
  • A solid understanding of various technology concepts
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate young learners.
  • Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for working with children.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and respectful learning atmosphere
  • Willingness to iterate, get things done, play with tools and materials, and model the child’s mindset.

Preferred requirements:

  • Previous experience teaching or mentoring children, bonus points if teaching was in technology-related subjects.
  • Understanding of tools suitable for children’s learning.
  • Be a self-starter with strong attention to detail, and proven experience managing multiple priorities
