Position Title: Psychosocial officer

Closing date of the application: 23.06.2020

The Kosovo Rehabilitation Center for Torture Victims, supported by the British Embassy in Prishtina is implementing project on Addressing long-term effects of sexual violence and ending stigmatization of survivors of sexual violence and their family members during the war in Kosovo. KRCT is seeking to recruit a psychosocial officer to support the implementation of the project.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Identification and referral of the survivors of sexual violence during the war in Kosovo;
  • Initial interviews with the identified cases and fill out intake form and notes for the file, which should be submitted to the KRCT therapists;
  • Maintain database on regular basis for the cases identified in the field and treated in KRCT;
  • Arrange appointments and receive clients/ beneficiaries in coordination with therapists and project manager;
  • Collect, register and maintain information on project activities by reviewing reports and through first hand sources;
  • Report on relevant issues/events related to rehabilitation unit on weekly basis to the KRCT Project Manager (communication through emails and in-person);
  • Contribute to all unit activities conducted in HQ office and branch offices (round-tables, trainings, workshops) and on drafting KRCT promotional materials (manuals, leaflets, brochures etc.);
  • Establish cooperation with community representatives, NGOs and other stakeholders/partners;
  • Ensure confidentiality principles are highly respected;
  • Any other duties assigned by KRCT in order to meet the objectives of the project.

Qualifications and background

  • Bachelor degree in psychology or social sciences;
  • Previous experience in similar positions/projects within NGOs;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English;
  • Computer literate with practical experience ( Microsoft packages);
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Self-motivated and team-oriented, posses a positive attitude and work well with others;
  • Flexible, gender sensitive and cooperative with people of different cultural backgrounds.
