We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Procurement Specialist to join our team.  The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for supporting the procurement team and implementing procurement strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for various aspects of the procurement process, with a focus on the following key responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the formulation and implementation of procurement strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
• Identifying potential suppliers, evaluating their capabilities, and managing relationships with vendors to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of goods and services.
• Staying informed about market trends, pricing, and supplier performance to make informed decisions and negotiate favorable terms.
• Preparing and reviewing requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for quotations (RFQs), and requests for information (RFIs) to select the best suppliers.
• Monitoring contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and contract terms with vendors to achieve favorable agreements that meet the organization’s needs while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Working on various aspects of the procurement process, such as requisitioning support, purchase order coordination, order tracking, delivery coordination, and invoice processing.
• Ensuring adherence to procurement policies, procedures, and regulations, both internally and externally. Implementing and maintaining ethical sourcing practices.
• Monitoring and evaluating supplier performance to ensure they meet agreed-upon service levels and quality standards. Addressing any issues or non-compliance.
• Identifying potential risks in the procurement process and implementing risk mitigation strategies. Ensuring continuity of supply and managing potential disruptions.
• Collaborating with internal departments, such as finance, construction, logistics, and operations, to understand their procurement needs and requirements. Building strong relationships with stakeholders to align procurement activities with the company’s goals.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements, implementing best practices, and leveraging technology to streamline procurement processes and enhance efficiency. Providing guidance and mentorship to junior procurement staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience, preferably in a public sector or international organization setting.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with procurement processes and best practices.
• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to speak the English language at a high level.
