Title: POLICY RESEARCHER 

Status: Full-time

Location: Prishtina, Kosovo

Reporting to: Executive Director

POSITION SUMMARY

The Policy Researcher will research and draft policy papers on policy matters concerning Kosovo and the wider region. He/She will work closely with the BPRG team to collect data, analyze them, and craft actionable policy recommendations, in line with project objectives and donor requirements. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct desk research and collect quantitative and qualitative data, on policy matters relating to public policy & good governance, development, regional cooperation and related initiatives, EU and other international agendas, security, energy, and other key issues and policies concerning Kosovo and the region.  
• Support BPRG team in gathering data, analyzing and editing policy papers.
• Write, edit, and review papers, articles, and reports for publication.
• Conduct research to provide evidence-based insights that support policy discussions and advocacy efforts. 
• Contribute to the development of public policy recommendations based on research findings.
• Ensure the research is evidence-based and the writing is adapted to the BPRG style and requirements. 
• Understand and stay informed on national and regional emerging policy developments.
• Ensure compliance with all organisation’s internal policies.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Excellent data collection, research, analytical and writing skills, with the ability to draft qualitative policy reports and papers.
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of policy developments and dynamics in Kosovo and in the Western Balkans, particularly in public policy, good governance, law, regional cooperation, peace and security, and other thematic and development areas.
• Proven experience in research, writing, and drafting policy documents.
• Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality policy writing (distinct from academic writing). 
• A strong capacity for effective teamwork, a high degree of flexibility, and willingness to work long hours and under pressure of deadlines.
• Excellent spoken and written English and Albanian.
