Islamic Relief is an international relief and development charity founded in 1984 with its headquarters in Birmingham, UK. As well as responding to disasters and emergencies, Islamic Relief promotes sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities – regardless of race, religion, or gender. In Kosovo, Islamic Relief started its activity in 1999.

Islamic Relief Kosova is currently looking for 4 interns to join our dedicated Team.

JOB PURPOSE:

  • To provide assistance and general support to the orphan team of Islamic Relief Kosovo
  • Addressing the requests of orphans and meeting their needs
  • Bring to the attention of the Child Welfare Coordinator any issues of concern that may arise in connection with the work
  • Welcomes and supports orphans who visit or call the office
  • Responds to orphans’ questions in a timely manner, whether through phone calls, emails, SMS or face-to-face
  • Maintains orphan data in the database, ensuring that data protection standards are respected
  • Preparation of minutes for meetings and subsequent actions
  • Archiving
  • Support different activities
  • Participate in regular briefings regarding the Orphans’ activities and disseminate information to staff, where appropriate
  • Ensures that reports are completed according to agreed formats and timelines
  • Keeps a log of all activities
  • External Communication
  • Liaise with other departments and external bodies as needed and when requested

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports to the Line Manager
  • Works closely with the Line Manager
  • Liaises at all levels with staff within the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • The candidate should be in studies or post-graduate
  • English Language knowledge (B2 – Intermediate)

SKILLS

  • Excellent word processing, Excel, and database skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrable administration and office management skills.
  • Experience in diary and correspondence management.
  • Strong written communication skills necessary to draft letters, reports, and other documentation.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills and excellent telephone manner.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge and understanding of using relationship management database software.

ABILITIES 

  • Ability to manage day-to-day administrative and office management functions.
  • Ability to demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collate data and produce reports.
  • Able to plan, prioritize, and deliver to tight timescales.
  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative and as part of a team, without close supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally, face-to-face, over the telephone, and in writing.
  • Able to work methodically with good attention to detail.
  • Able to demonstrate a consistent approach to others with confidence and integrity.
