About the job:

As a Network Engineer, you will be instrumental in planning, designing, and documenting customer projects related to network infrastructures. Representing a well-established IT system house, you will provide expert consultation to customers, ensuring the stability and scalability of their network infrastructures in branches throughout Germany and globally.

Additionally, you will work on implementing NAC systems, configuring networks, automating software rollouts, and optimizing recurring administrative tasks. This role offers a mix of hands-on technical work, customer engagement, and ongoing professional development through international events and advanced training.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Planning and Implementation:
• Design and implement network switches/routers.
• Develop and document complex customer-specific network infrastructures.
• Monitoring and Maintenance:
• Monitor network structures to ensure backup and smooth operations of hardware and software components.
• Troubleshoot network issues, addressing layers OSI 1-7.
• Optimization and Development:
• Analyze, consult, and develop network management systems.
• Automate software rollouts and streamline recurring administrative tasks.
• Incident Management:
• Handle incidents and problem resolution.
• Conduct release management for network infrastructure components.

 Certifications

Certifications such as Extreme Networks EDS/ECS or Cisco CCNP/CCIE.

• Knowledge of advanced technologies like IPv6, MPLS, BGP, and OSPF.
• Experience in ITIL processes and frameworks.
• Previous experience in system house business and customer advisory roles.

Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)

• Educational Background:
• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or completed training in IT.
• Professional Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network infrastructure.
• Technical Expertise:
• Strong knowledge of IPv4, TCP/IP, switching, routing, and network segmentation.
• Familiarity with Extreme Networks and Cisco technologies.
• At least one network certification, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
• Soft Skills:
• Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented mindset.
• Great command of English / German proficiency desirable
• Creative thinker with a hands-on mentality and a sense of responsibility.
