Junior Accountant (Retail Industry)

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our growing team at Ted  Baker, an international brand specializing in fashion apparel. At Ted Baker, we pride ourselves on our  commitment to quality, innovation, and creativity in the fashion world. 

Responsibilities: 

• Process and record daily financial transactions related to retail operations, ensuring accuracy and  completeness. 
• Manage point-of-sale (POS) system data to facilitate smooth transactions and accurate reporting. Assist with inventory control and cost accounting procedures to optimize retail operations. Prepare and reconcile bank statements and accounts payable/receivable to maintain financial integrity. 
• Independently generate and analyze key financial reports such as the balance sheet, income statement,  and cash flow statement. 
• Support month-end closing procedures, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Maintain a strong understanding of retail-specific accounting regulations, including sales tax compliance. 
• Collaborate with other departments such as sales and operations to provide valuable financial insights  and support decision-making processes. 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field. 
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the retail industry. Proven ability to independently read, interpret, and analyze financial statements. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). 
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero is a plus. 
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team  environment. 
• Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn new concepts and technologies.
