The Hotel General Manager will play a pivotal role in the successful development and pre-opening of an internationally branded hotel in Prishtina, Kosovo. This includes overseeing all aspects of the hotel’s construction, setup, and eventual operation to ensure an exceptional guest experience, operational efficiency, and financial profitability. This role involves managing guest services, staff recruitment, financial planning, marketing, and maintaining high standards of hospitality to establish the hotel as a premier destination.

Responsibilities:

Operational Management

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of all hotel departments, including front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, brand standards, and local regulations.
• Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure a consistently high level of guest satisfaction.

Financial Management

• Develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring profitability and cost control.
• Monitor revenue performance, forecast future trends, and implement strategies to maximize revenue streams (e.g., room rates, occupancy, food & beverage sales).
• Manage expenditures, negotiate vendor contracts, and optimize operational efficiency.

Guest Experience

• Lead initiatives to enhance the guest experience, including soliciting feedback and addressing complaints effectively.
• Ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service at every guest touchpoint.
• Maintain a visible presence within the hotel to interact with guests and address their needs.

Staff Management

• Recruit, train, and mentor a team of department heads and hotel staff.
• Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and high performance.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement training programs for staff development.

Marketing and Business Development

• Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote the hotel, including partnerships, advertising, and digital campaigns.
• Build relationships with local businesses, tourism organizations, and key stakeholders to drive bookings and brand recognition.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to adapt and remain competitive.

Compliance and Safety

• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and industry standards.
• Conduct regular audits of processes, equipment, and facilities to maintain operational excellence.
• Prepare for and manage crisis situations, including emergencies and unforeseen disruptions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in hotel management, including a leadership role.
• Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
• Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proficient in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in hospitality or management (e.g., CHA, CHRM) are advantageous.
