Expression of interest for SIX Forest Data Collectors in Kosovo

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations leads international efforts to defeat hunger and to achieve food security for all and make sure that people have regular access to enough high-quality food to lead active, healthy lives. With over 194 member states, FAO works in over 130 countries worldwide. We believe that everyone can play a part in ending hunger.

FAO is implementing in Kosovo a Programme entitled “Support to strengthening sustainable and multipurpose forest management to improve rural livelihoods and address climate change in Kosovo”. The focus of the Programme is to contribute to the sustainable management of forest resources through strengthening the enabling environment for the forestry sector, introduction of multipurpose forest management planning, restoration of degraded forestlands, and forest protection measures.

Programme approaches multipurpose forest management (MPFM) in a cost-efficient way, i.e. by amending existing Forest Management Plans FMPs with multi-purpose management principles and techniques, measured against appropriate criteria and indicators. Target groups for training and implementation are selected among private and public forest workers, enterprises, women’s groups, and rural youth groups. Programme’s work stream will be guided from participatory planning to applying newly acquired skills on demarcated multi-purpose management sites.

In this framework, FAO is looking for six qualified candidates interested to work as Forest Data Collectors for Multi – Purpose Forest Management Planning.
