Job Profile
The British School of Kosova is seeking a dedicated and passionate English Language Professor to join our dynamic teaching team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality English language instruction to a diverse student body, fostering an engaging and inclusive learning environment, and supporting the institution’s commitment to academic excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Curriculum Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver effective lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives.
- Student Engagement: Employ a variety of instructional techniques and resources to keep students motivated and engaged in their learning.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and administer assessments to gauge student progress, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate records of student performance.
- Support and Guidance: Offer extra help to students who need additional support, including organizing and leading tutoring or remedial sessions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with fellow faculty members, departmental heads, and administrative staff to ensure consistency in teaching practices and align with school-wide goals.
- Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest teaching methodologies, language research, and pedagogical strategies through ongoing professional development.
- Compliance and Policies: Adhere to school policies, procedures, and educational standards, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
- University Degree in English Language (Mandatory): A bachelor’s or master’s degree in English Language or English Literature is required.
- Teaching Certification / Experience: Prior teaching experience, especially at the secondary or tertiary level, and relevant teaching certifications are highly desirable.
- Language Proficiency: Native-level or near-native proficiency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, based on institutional and student needs.
- Classroom Management: Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to foster a positive and respectful learning atmosphere.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities, with a genuine passion for educating and inspiring students.
- Technology Skills: Comfortable using digital tools and platforms for lesson delivery, student engagement, and record keeping.
