BACKGROUND
Terre des hommes Kosovo is a non-profit organization which has been operating in Kosovo
since 1999 in the field of child rights and child protection, leading the establishment and
strengthening of a national child protection system in Kosovo. Terre des hommes’ area of expertise
ranges from direct psycho-social interventions with vulnerable children and their family and community
members, to empowerment of local, regional and national level governmental institutions and key
stakeholders through capacity-building and on-the- job training in order to develop and implement proper child-sensitive structures, policies, standards and procedures. Terre des hommes Kosovo has 3 main programs of interventions: 1) Child Protection 2) Migration and Anti-Trafficking 3) Juvenile Justice.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Communication Officer leads proactively the fundraising processes and contributes to
communication activities for Tdh Kosovo.
The titular will conduct his or her duties in respect of the charter of Terre des hommes, the Tdh Child
Protection Policy and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Terre des hommes expects that its employees’ professional conduct reflects proper behavior in
accordance with Kosovar cultural and the local traditions. The titular assures the moral protection of the
name of Terre des hommes (Tdh) and defends in all circumstances the interests of the movement. The
titular will direct his or her activities and engagements without preoccupation of political, racial or
religious affiliation.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads the external communications of Tdh Kosovo through writing articles, success stories,
electronic bulletins, contributing to position papers and other communication materials. - Uphold and promote the brand identity and messaging of Terre des hommes Kosova in all
communication materials. - Take a leadership role in organizing and coordinating events that promote the mission and work of
Terre des hommes in Kosovo. - Develops the monthly newsletter of the delegation in collaboration with the program team.
- Maintain and regularly feeds on daily basis with information the social media pages of Tdh Delega-
tion in Kosovo. - Manages and create content for the organization’s digital platforms, including the website and social
media channels. - Collaborate with the program team to actively engage in the development, design, and execution of
impactful awareness-raising campaigns. - Works closely with the program staff and the Associates of the Resource Center/Childhub by
providing technical support and advise on communication aspects to be taken into account during
the implementation of the activities. - Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets to enhance the organization’s visibility and
coverage. - Pay regular field visits in the program activities in order to write communication articles.
- Implements the regional communication strategy and feeds with information on monthly basis the
regional website as Communication Focal Point of the Country. - In close collaboration with the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer writes the Country annual reports.
- Provide training and capacity-building sessions for staff members on effective communication
strategies. - Coordinates fundraising processes for Tdh Kosovo related with private social responsibility funding,
general public funds, etc.
YOUR PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communication Sciences or any relevant subject related to
communication. A master’s degree is an advantage. - Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in communication, fundraising, media campaigns,
public relationships, etc. - Previous experience in similar positions in NGO/international organization will be an added value.
- Willing and flexibility to travel in the field.
- Excellent writing skills in English and Albanian
- Proficient command of Microsoft Office packages

- Three references filled in the TDH format that will be sent directly from TDH;
- Certificate of criminal background check from Police;
- Certificate of background check from the Court;
- Certificate of medical report;
