StarLabs is looking for a skilled Automation QA Engineer to join our cross-functional engineering teams and help drive quality across our products. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that our applications meet high standards of performance, reliability, and user experience by designing, implementing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain automated test cases for backend services and APIs.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers to define testing strategies and ensure full coverage.
• Create and maintain detailed test plans and test data based on product requirements and specifications.
• Execute automated and minor manual tests, analyze results, and provide feedback to the development team.
• Report and track bugs using Jira or similar tools.
• Continuously improve automation coverage, test reliability, and testing frameworks.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
• Ensure testing best practices and standards are applied throughout the development lifecycle.
• Stay current with new testing tools, trends, and techniques and introduce them when applicable.

Technical Requirements:

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in Automation QA roles.
• Experience writing automated tests using tools such as Selenium, JUnit, Cypress, or REST Assured.
• Proficient in at least one OOP language (Java preferred).
• Solid understanding of API testing and backend validation.
• Comfortable with SQL and working with relational databases.
• Familiarity with Linux environments and using the command line.
• Strong knowledge of Git and version control workflows.
• Experience with tools like Docker, Postman, and Jira.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience in backend performance testing.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and integrating tests in automation flows.
• Familiarity with containerized environments.
• Experience working in fast-paced or multi-project environments.
• Knowledge of testing strategies for microservices-based architectures.
