Compact Program Summary

The Government of the Republic of Kosovo (the “Government” or “GoK”) and the Millennium Challenge Corporation (“MCC”), a United States government agency, signed a grant aimed at accelerating the country’s transition towards an energy future that is more sustainable, inclusive, reliable and affordable. The GoK has ratified the compact and has designated a new entity as an autonomous agency to exercise and perform the GoK’s rights and obligations to oversee, manage and implement the Compact Programs. This entity will be referred to as MCA-Kosovo.

The Compact program will be implemented within five years and consists of three projects 1) Energy Storage Project, 2) Just and Equitable Transition Acceleration Project, and 3) American Catalyst Facility for Development Project.

Millenium Challenge Account – Kosovo is recruiting for the position of the Administrative Assistant.

Position Summary

The Administrative Assistant, reporting directly to the Director of Administration and Finance, provides support in a range of administrative services including organization of event logistics, travel arrangements, and maintenance of office inventories and filing systems. 

The position is based in Pristina, Kosovo.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Organizes logistics and materials for workshops, meetings, and events to support smooth-running activities;
  2. Processes visa applications and travel arrangements, travel disbursements, and other travel-related requirements in accordance with MCA-Kosovo travel policy in order to support programmatic activities;
  3. Initiates communication within the MCA-Kosovo and with external service providers, to ensure that logistical preparations for workshops, meetings, and events are in place allowing sufficient leeway in case of changes in schedule or venue; 
  4. Maintains an inventory of office supplies and equipment ensuring that stocks are replenished on a regular basis and faulty equipment are repaired as needed facilitating workplace efficiency;
  5. Maintains filing systems and databases of all division and project documentation to ensure that activities are well-documented in support of planning and auditing processes.
  6. Provide assistance in contract management;
  7. Other tasks as might be assigned by Director of Administration and Finance.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field;
  • At least 3 years of administrative experience with local or international organizations in Kosovo;
  • Fluency in English and in another official language of Kosovo (Albanian or Serbian) is required. Proficiency in Albanian is preferred for candidates who speak Serbian, and vice versa;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preferred background and work experience:

  • Demonstrated sensitivity and adaptability regarding gender, cultural, nationality, and age considerations;
  • Contract management experience.
