Project: “Greening Private Enterprises in Kosovo “
Caritas Switzerland (CACH)’s Country Office for Kosovo is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of
Expert in Capacity Building for SMEs on Green Transition
(Outcome 2 Manager)
Under the supervision of the Team Leader (TL), the Outcome Managers will support the implementation of the Project “Greening Private Enterprises in Kosovo “, in line with Caritas Switzerland rules and regulations and donors’ requirements.
We are in search of knowledgeable, experienced and innovative candidates for the three positions in the fields identified below for our upcoming project. The employment is possible if Caritas Switzerland is awarded the project “Greening Private Enterprises in Kosovo” by SDC.
Position summary:
Outcome Managers will implement activities planned under the project “Greening Private Enterprises in Kosovo “, in line with the given intervention as described in the approved project document.
Outcomes are the following:
- SMEs and other relevant actors have the capacities to implement aspects of the Green Transition in the private sector, and a conducive ecosystem has been established.
Main responsibilities for each Outcome:
- Needs Assessment: Conducting assessments to identify the specific capacity-building needs of SMEs related to the green transition.
- Programme Development: Designing and developing training programs and workshops tailored to the needs of SMEs, focusing on sustainable practices, resource efficiency, and environmental management.
- Organisational Development & Training Delivery: Facilitating training sessions, workshops, and seminars to enhance the knowledge and skills of SME staff in areas related to sustainability and green technologies.
- Resource Development: Creating and providing access to tools, guides, and resources that support SMEs in implementing green practices and transitioning to sustainable operations.
- Mentoring and Support: Offering one-on-one coaching or mentoring to SME leaders and teams, helping them to apply new knowledge and practices effectively within their organizations.
- Promoting Collaboration: Fostering collaboration among SMEs, industry groups, and other stakeholders to share best practices and experiences related to green transition efforts.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Developing metrics and evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness of capacity-building initiatives, gathering feedback from participants, and making improvements based on findings.
- Facilitating Knowledge Sharing: Encouraging the exchange of knowledge and experiences among SMEs through networking events, forums, and online platforms.
- Staying Informed: Keeping up with the latest developments in sustainability practices, technologies, and regulations, and integrating this knowledge into capacity-building efforts.
- Advocacy and Awareness Raising: Engaging in advocacy efforts to promote the importance of capacity building for green transition within the broader business community and among policymakers.
The ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in economics, environmental science and finance. Advanced master’s degree or equivalent is an asset;
- Experience in implementation of Private Sector Development projects with the capacities to directly advise companies, but also intermediaries and the government on technical aspects related to the green and just transition;
- Knowledge on the EU Green Deal, Western Balkans Green Agenda and Green and Just Transition
- Experience in developing the capacities of SMEs and other relevant actors to implement aspects of the Green Transition in the private sector, and to establish a conducive ecosystem
- Hands-on experience in :
- Building capacities of companies to increase their competitiveness through trainings on topics related to green agenda;
- Leveraging access to finance through support for the development of bankable business models, facilitation of access to the existing/ coming policy instruments (e.g. access to finance the innovation fund or specific subsidies etc.);
- Developing the capacities of intermediary organisations (such as chambers, business associations, service providers) to develop demand-oriented services for the business community (e.g. labelling, certifications, environmental management system, carbon accounting, circular economy, resource efficiency etc.).
- Training of Trainers, support for the management of specific business organizations, peer to peer learning formats, encouragement of embedded services by lead companies etc.
- Disseminating good practices and success stories;
- Supporting data generation for planning and developing a greener economy;
- Facilitating peer learning formats (as well as public private dialogue and others) on the national and regional level;
- increasing consumer awareness on sustainable consumption.
- Hands-on experience in working with the private sector on greent transition;
- Experience in collaboration with Government Institutions and NGOs in the field of climate change and environmental protection, youth activism, or related fields;
- Advanced skills in planning, communication, facilitation, and coordination;
- Excellent knowledge of English (both written and spoken). Excellent knowledge of at least one local language (Albanian, Serbian), knowledge of a second local language is considered an asset;
- Very good skills in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc);
- Working experience with gender mainstreaming and conflict-sensitiveness is considered an asset;
- A valid driving license: Willingness to travel throughout Kosovo;
