CURRENT OPENING: Property Claim File Reviewer (Quality Assurance)

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To review all property damage estimates and supporting documentation submitted by property adjusters, using various estimating applications to ensure damage estimates follow client guidelines and property insurance regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts quality reviews of claim file documentation for repair estimates to ensure they meet insurance policy requirements, and are within the guidelines of the carrier property insurance policies.
  • Communicates with property adjusters and others as necessary to reach agreements on final scope of damages, requests adjusters for corrections, and follow-up with the property adjusters on correction requests.
  • Creates, reviews, and sends fair and accurate estimates through various platforms including Client Management Systems (CMS), Xactimate, Xactanalysis and other industry related programs.
  • Identifies estimate differences and validates that any differences are justified in accordance with industry practices or codes.
  • Reviews justifications and uses independent judgment and discretion to ensure compliance with client guidelines.
  • Makes estimate corrections as needed to support need for repairs as covered under the property policy.
  • Receives and responds to e-mails/communications from adjusters or from Insurance Carriers regarding questions.
  • Provides input for the establishment and update of client guidelines.
  • Determines if emergency repairs are appropriate to be made (met technical requirements for temporary repairs found in Client Guidelines).
  • Monitors, assists, and tracks for claims that are requested for re-inspection by the Insurance Carrier.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supports the organization’s quality program(s).
  • Attends additional training as requested or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in building construction or civil engineering from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • In place of university degree, 5 yrs in the field of construction with at least 2 yrs of those years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in insurance adjusting or construction background or equivalent combination of education and experience is a plus.
  • Experience using Xactimate estimating software a plus.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong working knowledge of repair practices/construction estimating
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • PC literate, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products
