The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Innovation and Training Park (ITP) in Prizren is seeking to fill the position of:

Junior Advisor – Urban and Regional Development

(Architect/ Civil Engineer)

The overall purpose of the post

The Junior Advisor will be in charge to support the facility management unit with regards to physical planning and physical layout including subdivisions/parcels within the ITP, proper registration of land including cadaster, and to ensure that the developments of the park, subdivisions and constructions are line with the planning, building and other relevant legislation of Kosovo and the Municipality of Prizren.

Main tasks and responsibilities

The junior advisor performs the following tasks:

  1. Park Planning & land development

The junior advisor will support the facility management team on:

  • finalization of the Detailed Regulatory Plan (DRP) for the ITP
  • land re-parcellation as units to be leased out to ensure optimal use of land and sufficient inner access
  • improve public spaces within ITP based on development and demands and overall spatial development concept
  • coordinate with the technical team on requirements for technical infrastructure to be considered for the further spatial development of the park.
  1. Building layout and building standards

The junior advisor will support the facility management team on:

  • drafting design standards for buildings within the park
  • optimizing the layout of existing buildings and their modernization or demolition according to future utilization including monitoring the progress of construction work
  • identifying buildings / open areas to be reserved for common use and proposing developments for their utilization
  • developing and implementing a concept on safety and security measures for ITP
  • supporting technical specifications on construction measures.
  1. Other duties/ additional tasks

The junior advisor

  • contribute to the project’s knowledge management.
  • contribute to Public Relations (PR)
  • supports the Team Leader and the project team in other project-related duties
  • and performs other duties at the request of the Team Leader.

Required qualifications, competencies, and experience

Qualifications

  • University degree in architecture, civil engineering or equivalent.

Professional experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in architecture and/or interior design.

Other knowledge, additional competences

  • Knowledge of urban and sustainable development principles
  • Knowledge of using geographic information systems
  • Skilled in graphic software for architecture and urban design like AutoCAD, Archi Cad, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup, or similar
  • Very good working knowledge of general IT and communication technologies as well as computer applications (e.g. MS Office, MS Teams)
  • Ability or being innovative and having a good ability at constructive thinking
  • Strong attention to detail and aptitude for documentation
  • Very good knowledge of English; knowledge of German is an added value.
