Position: Data Scientist

MDA is looking for a Data Scientist who will support our Big Data Initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong experience using a variety of data mining and analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building, and implementing models, using/creating algorithms, and creating/running simulations. She/He must be a high-energy team player, ready to contribute to an already fun working environment.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Data mining or extracting usable data from valuable data sources.
• Carrying out preprocessing of structured and unstructured data.
• Enhancing data collection procedures to include all relevant information for developing analytic systems.
• Processing, cleansing, and validating the integrity of data to be used for analysis.
• Analyzing large amounts of information to find patterns and solutions.
• Developing prediction systems and machine learning algorithms.
• Presenting results in a clear manner.
• Propose solutions and strategies to tackle business challenges.
• Collaborate with Skills Development Division.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Education

• BA or BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field is required. MA or MSc is desired.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models.
• Experience using statistical computer languages (ie: R, Python, SLQ, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
• Experience working with and creating data architectures.
• Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests, and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
• Excellent writing skills in English and Albanian languages
